Bangkalan, August 1–7, 2025 — The Department of Agribusiness at Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) successfully organized a TOEFL Preparation Bootcamp, attended by 105 undergraduate students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts. The intensive 7-day program was held at the RKBI Building, Faculty of Agriculture, UTM Bangkalan, in collaboration with the Language Centre (LC), Kampung Inggris Pare, Kediri.

The bootcamp was officially opened on August 1st with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Agribusiness Department, Novi Diana Badrut Tamami, S.P., M.P., who emphasized the importance of English language proficiency for agribusiness students in enhancing their academic and professional competitiveness in the global arena.

This initiative was designed as a proactive response to UTM’s updated academic policy, which requires students to achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 450 as a prerequisite for graduation. The program also reflects the department’s commitment to upholding the standards of international accreditation by FIBAA, with a strong emphasis on global readiness and academic excellence.

The bootcamp featured a team of experienced instructors from Language Centre Kampung Inggris Pare, including Mr. Alex, Mr. Naja, Ms. Rosi, Ms. Eva, Ms. Marta, and Mr. Rahman. The program began with a diagnostic pre-test to assess participants’ initial proficiency, followed by five consecutive days of intensive training, covering TOEFL structure, listening comprehension, reading skills, and strategic test-taking tips. On the final day, students undertook a post-test to evaluate their progress.

As a follow-up, all participants will take the official TOEFL test administered by the UTM Language Center (UPT Bahasa) on August 8, 2025.

This bootcamp stands as a concrete manifestation of the Agribusiness Department’s dedication to preparing students not only for academic achievements but also for the challenges of international engagement and employment opportunities in the agribusiness sector.
