Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor internal yang dapat merumuskan model pengembangan kompetensi penyuluh pertanian di Provinsi Gorontalo, dan menganalisis derajat hubungan faktor-faktor internal yang dapat merumuskan model pengembangan kompetensi penyuluh di Provinsi Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dan untuk memverifikasi model menggunakan analisis SEM (Structural Equation Model) melalui Program LISREL (Linear Structural Relationships). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh peubah karakteristik, motivasi dan kemandirian pada kompetensi penyuluh pertanian. Secara bersama pengaruh ketiga peubah tersebut pada kompetensi penyuluh pertanian sebesar 0,74 satuan (74%) yang nyata pada α=0,05. Terdapat koefisien hubungan antar peubah, yaitu: koefisien hubungan antar karakteristik dan kemandirian penyuluh, koefisien hubungan antar karateristik dan motivasi penyuluh serta motivasi dan kemandirian penyuluh.
The purpose of this study was: analyze internal factors that can formulate a model of competence development of agricultural extension in Gorontalo Province, and analyze the degree of relationship of internal factors that can formulate a model of competence development of agricultural extension in Gorontalo Province. The research method is a survey method. To verify the model is done by using analytical SEM (Structural Equation Model) through the program LISREL (Linear Structural Relationships). The results showed that there are significant variable characteristics, motivation and self- reliance in agricultural extension competence. Together these three variables influence the competency of agricultural extension workers by 0.74 units (74%) were significant at α = 0.05. There is a coefficient of relationship between variables, that is: the coefficient of relationship between the characteristics and self-reliance extension, the coefficient of relationship between the characteristics and motivation of extension and extension of motivation and self-reliance.
